Various Kaiser Permanente hospitals in Northern California are opening drive up Coronavirus testing sites for people who have been screened by their primary doctor.
It is not open to the general public so even if individuals have symptoms of COVID-19, they must reach out to their primary care physician and get prior authorization before arriving to these testing sites.
This decision was made following the guidelines of the CDC in order to ensure the health and safety of their patients, staff, and the community.
Tests are performed by swabbing the patient while they are in their car. Patients are then sent home to self-isolate as they await for tests results.
