Gator Sports Report 3/12/19

San Francisco State Men’s Basketball took on the Los Angeles Golden Eagles last Tuesday for the first-round of CCAA playoffs. Gators lead in the first half, 33-29. To start off the second half, SF State experienced two separate power outages, delaying the game by over an hour. The game ended tied, 70-70, sending them to overtime. SF State fell short with the end score of 81-76.

Women’s Basketball clenched a spot for the playoffs, their first time since 2013. They played UC San Diego in the CCAA tournament opener last Tuesday. They lost with the final score of 87-36.


Men’s Wrestling Jordan Gurrola and Justin Pichedwantana went to Cleveland Friday for the NCAADII Wrestling Championship. Pichedwantana secured seventh place and Gurrola advanced to the third-place bout.


Women’s track and field went to Kansas to compete in the CCAA Indoor Championship on Saturday. The women finished in 10th place and 18 points total, both of which are program bests.


Men’s Baseball had to sit out another week of home games due to weather conditions in San Francisco. Recent rain saturated the field. They have postponed the games for a later date.Women’s softball had to postpone their two games Wednesday. The women took their home turf on Friday and Saturday, where they took 3 of the 4 games.


Now, taking it around the Bay, where Antonio Brown signed with the Oakland Raider. In the agreement, the wide-receiver will receive a salary increase for the three-year contract from $38-million to $50-million. In the Steelers trade deal, they will receive the Raider’s third-round and fifth-round pick in this year’s draft.
