The 59thWhite Elephant Rummage sale took place this past weekendin Oakland. The two day eventhad hundreds of shoppers. Bay Area residents weren’t the only shoppers but there were people from all of the country who took advantage of the sustainable good. The event raises about one and a half million dollars and all proceeds go to the Oakland museum.
Many shoppers come to save money and purchase quality pieces that they can take to their homes. Sam Connolly says that she does not purchase retail items but instead finds unique items and vintage staple pieces. With the cost of living rising many bayarea residents come to buy cheaper items. The rummage sale sells various type of items such as, furniture, books, clothes, jewelry, kitchen items, and more. Make sure to go next year to bring new treasures into your own home.
