University

Park
North
(UPN)
is
one
of
many
on
campus
housing
provided
for
San
Francisco
State
students.
But
within
the
past
month,
there
have
been
a
total
of
three
attempted
burglaries
in
the
area.
The
first
was
on
February
13th
at
a
garden
unit
located
at
415
Winston
Drive,
where
the
suspect
successfully
entered
the
apartment
while
a
resident
was
home.
The
second
and
third
were
at
the
6th
and
8th
floors
of
a
high
rise
at
285
Buckingham
Way.
These
attempted
burglaries
have
sparked
fear
within
students
li
ving
on
campus,
especially
those
in
UPN.
Residential
Life
is
working
with
University
Police
Department
to
come
up
with
better
ways
to
make
residents
feel
safe.
UPD
Chief
of
Police
Jason
Wu
expressed
that
there
have
many
talks
to
enhance
security
in
UPN
li
ke
placing
emergency
call
boxes
within
the
community,
and
hiring
more
Community
Service
Officers.
In
the
meantime,
residents
must
remain
patient
and
keep
practicing
good
security
methods.
